State of Housing: A Fishbowl Conversation
State of Housing: A Fishbowl Conversation
Monday, November 17, 2025 (3:30 PM - 5:30 PM) (EST)
Description
Join The Chatham Chamber, in partnership with Chatham County, and the Chatham Housing Collective, for a collaborative Fishbowl Conversation exploring the current state and future of safe, stable housing in our community.
This interactive discussion is a special breakout from the 2025 State of Chatham Breakfast and Data Briefing, created in response to one clear takeaway - there’s more to learn and more to do. Our local business leaders, government partners, and nonprofit experts bring an incredible depth of experience and perspective to this conversation, and we want to make room for it.
This meeting will also serve as the quarterly gathering for all Chatham Housing Collective (CHC) members.

What is a Fishbowl Conversation?
A fishbowl is a facilitated discussion format that brings a small group of speakers into the “center of the bowl” to share insights and stories while the audience listens and observes. As the conversation unfolds, audience members are invited to step into the circle, share their perspectives, and contribute to the dialogue—creating a dynamic exchange of ideas and lived experiences.
Featured Voices in the Bowl
To begin the conversation, we’ll hear from several local leaders shaping the housing landscape in Chatham County:
Jamie Andrews, Community Development Officer, Chatham County Affordable Housing Department
Daisy Butzer, MPH, Impact Manager, United Way of Chatham County
Rebecca Sommer-Peterson, Service Center Director, The Salvation Army
(Additional speakers and contributors to be announced.)
Together, we’ll explore:
- The latest data and local realities around housing access
 - Innovative models and partnerships emerging across Chatham County
 - Opportunities for business and community collaboration to expand attainable housing options
