The next meeting of the Chatham County Historical Association’s NC History Book Club will take place on Saturday, September 19, at 9:30am. We are excited to announce that Paul Cuadros will join us when we discuss A Home on the Field, his book about the 2004 NC high school soccer state championship team from Jordan Matthews High School in Siler City. More than an accounting of a pivotal moment in Chatham County’s history, it’s a story about immigration, prejudice, resilience, and a community coming together. Whether you’re a lifelong history lover or just curious about the people and events that shaped our area, we’d love you to join us for one or all of our monthly meetings. Participation is free.
