North Carolina in the American Revolution

Sunday, July 5, 2026 (2:00 PM - 3:30 PM) (EDT)

Description

Just in time to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, the Chatham County Historical Association is excited to welcome back Jim Morgan to tell us about North Carolina’s role in the war that won America’s freedom from Britain.

Morgan is a creator of AmRevNC, a website devoted to the history of the battles of the American Revolution that happened here in North Carolina.  He is a writer and journalist with a deep knowledge of the American Revolution and the fateful role North Carolina played in it.  On Sunday, July 5, he’ll recount some of the historic battles that took place from the mountains to the sea in our colony-turned-state, and introduce us to some of the passionate Loyalists and Patriots who fought for control of this land.  Admission to this talk is free, and all are welcome.
