Mark your calendars! Tickets for this year’s “Spirits of Pittsboro’s Past” walking tours go on sale to Chatham County Historical Museum members on September 13, and to the general public on October 1. Take a guided walk through downtown Pittsboro for a memorable evening of local folklore and historical reenactments. The 2026 “Spirits of Pittsboro’s Past” walking tour blends Chatham County’s rich heritage with stories and legends, presented by costumed interpreters portraying figures from the town’s past. The journey begins at the historic courthouse and winds through old cemeteries, churches, and hidden corners, with each stop offering a window into the people and moments that shaped Pittsboro. Tours will be held on Friday, October 23, Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25. Tickets are $25 for CCHA members; $30 for non-members.
